Homeowners Insurance

Personal Homeowners Policies limit on Valuables.

Did you know in a standard homeowners policy, coverage limits for jewelry, furs, watches, and related items is only $1,000 combined? These and other limits are in place to encourage homeowners to buy additional coverage for valuable and hard to replace items.

Additional coverage can be purchased through a Personal Articles Form or other additional applicable policy. Below is a list of item categories that may have limited coverage limits as low as $200 per category.

Examples of Items That May Have Limited Coverage Under Your Homeowners Policy:

  • Money 
  • Valuable Papers and Securities 
  • Boat Trailers 
  • Business Use Property
  • Silverware 
  • Firearms 
  • Jewelry (including furs, watches, and related items)

    Doesn't my Home Owners insurance cover that already? Umbrella's cover you after your normal home owners insurance coverage has paid it's maximum liability. For most home insurance this is $300,000 or $500,000.
